Bakary Coulibali's basketball story almost never happened. Growing up, he wanted to follow his uncle, Sol Bamba, into professional football. At 14, his father brought him to a basketball session for the first time — and he walked away MVP, despite never having played before.
He never stopped. Daily training, gym work, and a refusal to plateau took him from that first session to a professional contract with Cuxhaven BasCats — earned at a recruitment tournament in the Netherlands. He's currently completing a bachelor's degree in Sports Science at the University of East London, with his dissertation still to finish.
Now he's chasing the next step: a top-tier league in Germany, France, or Spain.
